Back in November I purchased a kit from https://www.ancestry.com . I thought it would be cool to find out where my ancestors were from. My parents are from Haiti. They were born and raised there and came here before I was born. I’m black, I’ve never thought I was anything other than that. I’ve gotten questions from others but always responded with, “I’m Haitian”.
Slaves were brought to Haiti in the late 1400s from mostly Benin/Togo according to some historians but I thought it would be cool to see what my DNA says. Check out the video!

I initially misread my results. When I clicked on “See all 150+ regions“, I thought that section listed other probable matches. Each had a number associated so I thought that that number signified the probability that I have ancestors from those regions. I was wrong. After looking into it, the 150+ regions is the total number of regions that your DNA is matched to. The number next to it signifies subregions. When you click on that number it opens up further. NO MATCH. So there is low chance my ancestors were from those regions. So no, I’m not likely native american at all! Confused? lol Check out this video:
