I’ve been to KAYA before but this was the first time I went there for brunch. KAYA is a restaurant located in the Strip District that serves Caribbean style food. Their menu also has South American influences as well.
I went with my sister and we decided to go with their Huevos Rancheros. Eggs are served your way. We went with over hard. The eggs are laid on top of avocado black beans. Topped with sauce verde. Served with pineapple (which I decided to skip but my sister enjoyed it), hash, and your choice of bacon or chorizo. My sister and I substituted the meat with soy sausage. For my vegetarians, this sausage was not homemade. The taste was oh to familiar. It is Morningstar’s sausage patty, the original flavor. I didn’t mind because I generally like Morningstar products.

Huevos Rancheros
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed my meal but the appetizer is what stole the show. We ordered the corn and lentil beignets. These were so delicious and VEGETARIAN. These were served with a side of green curry sauce. I don’t typically prefer curry but it was not overpowering. These definitely had a kick to them so if you don’t like hot and spicy, you might want to skip these. But I LOVED them.
I’m giving this place a 7.5/10 !

Final Round up
KAYA definitely has one of the better brunch options in Pittsburgh. As I mentioned before, I’ve been here for lunch as well. This would be a great spot to visit if you’re passing through the area and want some good brunchin’.
