Savoy is an upscale eatery in the strip district area of Pittsburgh. What I love about it is its black owned. The modern space, good food, and cool atmosphere makes it super attractive. They have the best overall brunch experience in Pittsburgh in my opinion.
They have a lounge upstairs for those who are looking for nightlife in Pittsburgh. I would recommend it to the 25- 40 year old looking to grab a drink, meet people, and show a few moves on the dance floor. I like that its not too “clubby” lol..and that the typical attendee is a bit more mature.
Weekend brunch at Savoy is BUSY! Make sure you have a reservation. We were seated right away with a reservation. The music was great, top 40s mixed with a few hip hop oldies here and there. The atmosphere is not quite “day party” but it definitely isn’t your quiet coffee shop brunch, its somewhere in between.
The service was great even though it was very busy. Because of this we waited awhile on the food. The manager came to the table and apologized for the wait and we didn’t end up paying for our meal. When the food arrived it was definitely worth the wait though. I really liked the breakfast potatoes.
The brunch menu is simple but the food is prepared well. I went with the typical eggs, toast, and potatoes and with no expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. I was left wanting more of those potatoes which were seasoned to perfection!
